This is a piece that senses wind
direction
and speed, and translates that into
deeply
resonant sound though this elegant
stringed
instrument.
This was on display with other of
Pat's
works at the Paris Gibson Art Center
in Great Falls, MT
Homage to the Pedestrian
These four lanterns react to the passage of people.
As people move along the walkway each piece in
turn detects their presence and responds with rhythms
of drums, bells, cymbals, and chimes.
This is a permanent installation on the Grove at the
Boise Civic Center in Boise, ID.
Taba Turbine
Here are thirty-two tuning forks,
their height set to
represent the terrain surrounding
Reno, NV.
As the wind direction moves around
the compass
the tuning fork for those directions are struck.
This produces a remarkably delightful
and
entertaining sound.
It is located in and at theReno-Sparks Convention Center.
